ABC FIRST Gay Sex Scene
Just weeks after canceling Adam Lambert's daytime performances, ABC made history on Wednesday by airing the first-ever gay sex scene on daytime television.
'One Life to Live''s Oliver and Kyle (Scott Evans and Brett Claywell) finally had their onscreen love scene, followed by a tender spooning moment. Evans, who is the younger brother of 'Fantastic Four' actor Chris Evans, is openly gay.

A Resistant Strain, Oh Man!
An HIV/AIDS patient waits for treatment at Wat Phrabatnampo near Lopburi, Thailand on Wednesday, July 28, 2004. (AP / David Longstreath)
Dear Readers,
I was sooooo upset to read this article today. (link below)
Not the best way to start the new year.
My heart aches for any man, woman or child who dies from AIDS.
Please help me!
Please help me annihilate the STIGMA attached to HIV/AIDS.
No human being deserves to be "cast out" of society.
In the Philippines, men are STILL being "shut out" and they retreat to the provinces to..... die.....alone.
Tears.
My core is in terrible distress thinking about any person who dies a slow death from AIDS OR ANY OTHER disease without loved ones around them.
I beg you all, please become more informed about HIV/AIDS and how EASY it is to pass it on.....to the person you love most.
Do NOT discriminate.
Do NOT think you are better than.....
Be SAFE! (It's still heaps of fun!)
Love.

About to Blow!
Mount Mayon looking like it's about to erupt
A rumbling volcano in the Philippines was on the verge of a major eruption today – but thousands of villagers living on its slopes are refusing to leave their homes.
Already, 40,000 people have fled the no-go zone around Mount Mayon, which oozed crimson lava during eerie scenes captured last night.
But around 3,000 residents, mostly farmers, remain – with some even returning after being evacuated up to three times by authorities.
Mexico Passes Gay Marriage
The Mexican Flag
Rafael Ramirez (L) and his partner Sebastian A. Becerril enjoy an evening at a gay bar in Mexico City December 11, 2009. Mexico City's assembly voted to extend gay couples full marriage rights on December 21, 2009 in a landmark law that is the first of its kind in Latin America, a traditionally macho and Catholic region. The bill takes a 2006 law allowing civil unions by allowing gay couples to access family social security benefits and apply for joint credits as if they were a straight couple.

MEXICO CITY — Mexico City lawmakers on Monday made the city the first in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage, a change that will give homosexual couples more rights, including allowing them to adopt children.
The bill passed the capital's local assembly 39-20 to the cheers of supporters who yelled: "Yes, we could! Yes, we could!"
Leftist Mayor Marcelo Ebrard of the Democratic Revolution Party was widely expected to sign the measure into law.

A 'Bah! Humbug' Christmas
In 1980 when I was ten (adorable btw), Santa or rather my parents gave me a brand new flash guitar for Christmas, which I'm still a bit bitter about to this day.
So I've decided to write about it in the hopes that it might help me finally put to bed this terrible Christmas memory that remains a source of confusion and pain to this very day.
Please keep in mind that this took place thirty years ago (but it seems like only yesterday).
I hated this stupid wooden guitar on this particular Christmas because of course as a young boy I still wanted toys at that time and the guitar seemed so grown up for a ten year old (not to mention it was so BIG). I instantly felt resentment on that morning because my parents were forcing me to grow up with this ridiculous instrument that I loathed from the instant I unwrapped it.
My brother still got lots of toys.
I hated him.
In the picture I've attached to this entry, you can't tell but I was crying and screaming inside and I just didn't want to show my parents how unhappy I was. This guitar cost a lot of money I thought which must have been the reason why I didn't get much else apart from the Christmas outfit I'm wearing. It was all very new and super masculine! My father was a real manly man you see and he wanted his two boys to be the same. I failed in that area miserably according to him, which continues to please me of course. My brother Corey was the perfect son who loved sports, eating and farting.
Just like my father.
I NEVER asked for a guitar or for that matter...... ever mentioned a guitar.
EVER!
My father was a keen musician in a rock band called The Nashville Rebels.
I think he wanted me to follow in his footsteps AGAIN by being a musician, but the only feet I wanted to follow were the roller skating ones in Olivia Newton John's XANADU movie which I LOVED!
Years later when I was sixteen I was living in Amsterdam.
I wrote a letter home inquiring after my guitar which I suddenly wanted very much and had developed a passion for playing them.
But it was too late because my parents assumed that I would never change from a ten year old and might want my guitar one day when I was older.
My parents gave the guitar away when I was in Europe and I was furious.
Apparently they had no room in their new "condo".
I phoned my mum and asked her to send it to me and she informed me that they had SOLD the guitar.
My mother tried to explain that she thought I did not want it, but she never even bothered to ask.
They gave away MY guitar.
In fact they gave away all of my things and I never saw them again.
I remember feeling at the time that they had given me away too.
I was only sixteen.
That Christmas and the guitar came to symbolize abandonment deep within my heart and to this day I feel it was "given away" like its rightful owner.
Me.

Hero, Muelmar Magallanes
Muelmar Magallanes with his nephew
The funeral of Muelmar Magallanes
by Krista Mahr
When Tropical Storm Ketsana hit Manila on a Saturday in late September, Muelmar Magallanes didn't do much.
Like most residents of the Philippines' capital, the 18-year-old construction worker was used to heavy rains pelting the city.
But by the time the storm had unleashed its full fury, bringing the worst rains the region had seen in more than 40 years, Magallanes had changed the lives of dozens of family members and neighbors — and lost his own.
After hearing that a nearby river had jumped its banks, Magallanes helped move his family to higher ground as water engulfed his village. Then he went back to do the same for some 30 neighbors.
After helping a mother and her infant off a makeshift raft, an exhausted Magallanes was lost in the water, his body recovered the next day.
"He gave his life for my baby," Menchie Penalosa, the child's mother, told Agence France-Presse. "I will never forget his sacrifice."
Tigers Sex Steroids and Divorce
The Mirror reports that Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren may be seeing celebrity lawyer Sorrell Trope as soon as next week. According to the article, "Elin is believed to be planning to file for divorce in California -- where the couple have a home -- and not Florida, where they live." Filing for divorce in California would increase the chances that the couple's property would be split evenly between the two.

Gay Marriage Passes in DC
Happy on their wedding day.
YAY!!!!!!!!
WASHINGTON — The City Council voted Tuesday to legalize gay marriage, giving supporters a victory after a string of recent defeats elsewhere and sending the issue to Congress, which has final say over laws in the nation's capital.
Mayor Adrian Fenty has promised to sign the bill, which passed 11-2, and gay couples could begin marrying as early as March if Congress allows it to become law. Democratic congressional leaders have suggested they are reluctant to get involved, though gay marriage opponents say they will try to get it overturned either in Congress or at the polls.

Official TFP Statement For Press Release
Posted by Task Force PrideLGBT Filipinos Dare, Care and March with Pride in 2009
Once again, the Filipino Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community along with their friends, families, allies and supporters, will come together in one massive and colorful parade at the 2009 Manila Pride March. On the first Saturday of December, right in time for Human Rights week, LGBT Filipinos will come out in full-force not only to show their pride but also to stake their claim on their right to participate fully in civil, political, economic, cultural and social life in the Philippines and beyond.
The theme of this year’s Pride Parade is “We Dare. We Care” to signify the LGBT community’s proactive stance in addressing the human rights problems affecting their sector. “We shall no longer be complacent. We dare to remind the Philippine government and the rest of society that we have an obligation under international human rights law to promote and protect the rights and well-being of all people, including LGBT Filipinos, who are being threatened by the looming economic crisis, natural disasters, armed conflict, religious intolerance and lack of political will of some government officials,” according to Great Ancheta, Head Coordinator of Task Force Pride (TFP) Philippines 2009.
“The LGBT community will march to show their indignation and concern over the lack of human rights protections for LGBT Filipinos as shown in the recent decision of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) not to accredit Ang Ladlad, a partylist group for LGBT Filipinos, the non-passage of the Anti-Discrimination Bill and the increasing incidence of violence and discrimination committed against them in large-scale because of their sexual orientation and gender identity,” adds Great.
“The 2009 Pride March is the Filipino LGBT community’s expression of solidarity with our brothers and sisters who have braved the streets of Taipei, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and other parts of the world to fight discrimination, homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia and transphobia at the national and international levels,” according to Naomi Fontanos also of TFP. Worldwide, pride marches have served as a platform of solidarity, consciousness- raising and empowerment for the LGBT community.
Prominent human rights actors in the Southeast Asian Region have expressed their support for TFP. In its statement, Forum-Asia, an international human rights organization, stated that “the Pride March is an excellent platform for the LGBT groups and individuals to forge further solidarity and network to express themselves on the various ongoing issues that affect the community not only in the Philippines but the rest of the world.”
Dr. Sriprapha Petcharamesree, the Thai representative to the ASEAN Inter-governmental Commission on Human Rights, said in her solidarity message, “the rights of everyone [have] to be guaranteed and the space has to be equally created without which the building of ASEAN Community could not be fully realized.”
The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) of the Philippines also endorsed the 2009 Manila Pride March. According to CHR Chair, Atty. Leila De Lima in their message of solidarity, “We laud TFP Philippines for organizing this annual Pride March, and we recognize the courage of those who choose to participate in it. The Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines stands ready to offer whatever support it can, not only in relation to this event, but also in order to generally advance respect for, and the protection of, the human rights of the LGBT community.”
The Pride March will take place on 5 December 2009, Saturday and will pass by designated streets in historic Malate after the assembly at the Remedios Circle at 3 pm. It will begin with a grand parade, followed by a magnificent program, an extraordinary pageant and culminate in an unforgettable night of partying.
The 2009 Manila Pride March is organized by Task Force Pride (TFP) Philippines, a network of LGBT and LGBT-supportive groups and individuals who seek to promote positive visibility for the LGBT community including Bed Malate, Gay, Transgender and Bisexual Advocates for Youth (GABAY), Lesbian Advocates Philippines (LeAP), Metropolitan Community Church Quezon City (MCCQC), Outragemag.com, Single Guys Online (SGO) PH, and Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines (STRAP). Founded in 1999, it is the official organizing network of the annual LGBT Pride Parade in Manila.
This year’s Pride March partners and sponsors are EZ Lubricating Jelly, Frenzy Condoms, Absolut, Andrew Christian, Archion Architects, BED, Beverly Hills 6750, Gabriela Women’s Party, Crobar, Gay and Lesbian Activist Network for Gender Equality (GALANG), Sen. Loren Legarda, Great Ancheta, Lookal, O Bar, Pride Exchange, Rainbow Bloggers Philippines, Rainbow Radio Pilipinas, MyFemme Magazine, Silya and The Library.
