Olympus DM-620 Recorder Posted: 04 Mar 2011 07:00 AM PST Journalists know that they’re recording device is as important as the story they’re covering. Olympus wants their coverage as clean and as precise as possible that’s why they’re offering the DM-620 Recorder. It uses the ‘TRESMIC System’, which in street parlance, means three mics. There’s the standard stereo mic plus a third, low-frequency mic for clarity. Frequencies as low as 20 kHz could be picked up by the third mic. Not in Barry White territory but close. The DM-620 even features a remote function that activates the device when you can’t be physically near the speaker or the subject you wanna record. There’s an onbard 4GB storage that’s expandable via the microSD slot and power is a couple of AAA batteries. $150. Share This |

D-Link Wireless N Powerline Router Posted: 03 Mar 2011 11:57 PM PST Young people, or sometimes even the old ones, should know one basic information about power outlets – that they could hand you the Darwin Award if you’re stupid. But the D-Link DHP-1320 Wireless N Powerline Router transfers information through your existing electrical lines out to your power outlets. Just plug the router into an available socket and get up to 200 Mbps transfer speed or 300 Mbps through Wireless N. Of course, it also depends on how good or how crappy your network connection may be. Wireless security is through WPA2 encryption while the powerlines employ an AES-128 bit security. $130+.
